On December 21, 2014, something magical is going to happen to Wugadogs. We can't say anything about it now but you will see it here first. We are going to celebrate your dog in 2015... like never before.

Behind Every Toy Hides a Real Heart.

None of us who are touched by Angus today really know what his life was like before us. All we know is that he came through New York City, was passed from home to home, unwanted, then trucked across the border to a Canadian dog rescue. That's where we found him, my wife and I. He is a mini Boston terrier. He was the angel that rescued my wife. That's how she puts it. So we adopted him. Shortly after that, I decided to invest a few hundred dollars and recreate Angus as a toy to give to my wife as a present. I made up a silly word that sounded like it should belong to a big toy line, Wugadogs, and thought she might like to use him as a pillow or perhaps prop him up next to the TV, but she posted a picture of the toy on Facebook. Angus! And now there are 4 Wugadogs released with many more to come. We've given hundreds away to rescues who auction them off to help abused animals. Given hundreds to hospitals. And just like the real Angus, all he wants is you to love him forever.

You Will Always Be With Us

This young Boxer entered our lives thanks to my sister. The one thing about Yanna that we regret the most was not not taking enough pictures of her. She was a sweet, loving, affectionate boxer who loved tummy rubs and would not let anyone near the car when we took her places (lol). She was rescued from neglect. Though I didn't see her often, something about her connected me to her. Her passing from stomach cancer was sudden and wrenching. We had all only loved her for a short time but I want to feel as though we gave her love in her last years. We all wanted her as a Wugadog. But perhaps a Wugadog that didn't show the pain we all knew she carried in her heart. We decided to recreate her in the form of a pup... at least what we believe she must've looked like as a pup. Small, uncropped ears, a lighter coat, and an inquisitive look, we released Yanna the Boxer. Yanna! She will always fill our hearts and will inspire us to search for dogs in need of love. Please love Yanna as much as she deserves to be loved.

What Can We Say about Charlie?
We Just Love Him.

This is where we changed the game a bit. The gang at Wugadogs had a crazy idea: "Why don't we open up the playing field to anyone who wants to see their dog a Wugadog?" Not bad we thought. But how? On the surface it seemed almost impossible; the expense alone would be astronomical. Then we thought of the Sweepstakes concept. Charlie was the winning dog randomly chosen from tens of thousands of entries. He was perfect. A beautiful labrador/chow/corgi mix. More than a few of us wished we could go down to Joliet, Illinois and play with him. We set up a private event for Charlie's family at their home for the "unwrapping" of the package that contained Wugadog Charlie. We had to see mom and dad's face so we hired a photographer from Associated Press to capture the moment. We were blessed that Charlie's family gracioulsy opened up their home to our crazy idea. And we're glad they have a soft and squeezable version of their love. Charlie!Pick up Charlie and take him home with you. We all know the real Charlie would be tickled you did.

You Can't Get More Squishy and Lovable
than a Pug.

Prudence is owned by a sweet couple, James and Trish, whom we know from "Doggie Daycare." We take Angus down there for play sessions with a cacophony of dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. One of Angus' girlfriends (yes, he has many) is Prudence. And let us tell you, this pug is so adorable, anyone who meets her wants to take her home. So we approached James and Trish and asked them if they wouldn't mind having their Prudence as the next Wugadog. They said yes. Personally, I wanted to make her as a luxurian fat roll with eyes but the team convinced me that wouldn't translate well into a recognizable dog. So I left it to their capable hands. The finished Wugadog is sweet, cute, with a dash of ugly... which was perfect. The thing about Prudence is that she is an odd light tan color. So we had to custom manufacture the faux fur for her. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of the fur so we don't know how long we can keep her in production. Prudence! So pick her up if you can, she'll want to curl up with you for sure.
